Dragon Farm is a captive breeding facility for lizards, tortoises and amphibians in Portugal.

All of our animals spend most, if not all of the year in spacious outdoor enclosures where they can live in the most natural conditions. It is our belief that by providing captive-bred animals we can help to ensure that their status in the wild is preserved. While we supply mainly to the trade, both wholesalers and specialist reptile shops, there are also occasionally opportunities for the hobbyist to purchase animals direct from us, particularly at the European shows.

In the past week (Mid December 2011), we have added some very interesting and exciting new species to our collection here. I will add more details of them, including pics, in the near future. Thanks to our German and Dutch friends for providing me with such lovely captive bred animals.

Natural range: Eastern Australia.
Habitat: Trees/Scrub near water.
Adult size: Normally between 60-80cm.
Diet: Invertebrates, vertebrates, plants/fruit.
Captive lifespan: Around 10-15 years.
Clutch size: 4-14 eggs. 7-8 eggs on average.
Min. cage size (WxHxD): 150 cms x 80 cms x 80 cms minimum for an adult pair.
Additional notes:

A very hardy lizard. Recommended for beginners and experienced keepers.

Natural range: Tunisia and Algeria.
Habitat: Rocky places, scrub, woodland edge.

Diet: Invertebrates, ocassional soft fruit.
Captive lifespan: Around 15-20 years.
Clutch size: 10-17 eggs.
Min. cage size (WxHxD): 90 cms x  40 cms x 40 cms for an adult pair.
Additional notes: A hardy lizard. This is not a tropical version of the European eyed lizard. Adult male Two and a half  month old male.

Habitat: Meadows, hillsides, cultivated land.

Captive lifespan: Around 120 years plus !
Clutch size: 3-12 Eggs.

Really should be outdoors. It needs an enclosed sunny, welldrained area.
